Data Integrity Process
Data Integrity Process (or DIP) is a mechanism to compare your IBM Digital Analytics Order data collection with that of your eCommerce back-end system.
Business Benefits:
a)?? ?To help establish confidence in the accuracy of Order reporting within IBM Digital Analytics
b)?? ?To aid as an investigation tool with potential order data collection issues
Key Details:
o?? ?DIP reporting is available within IBM Digital Analytics under Reports -> Custom Reports?
o?? ?DIP feature is not available in Test reporting
o?? ?DIP Participation is recommended not mandatory.
o?? ?If order accuracy to be investigated by Support then DIP Participation is mandatory.?
o?? ?IBM Digital Analytics Order data is expected to be in the range of 90% - 105% of your backend order data. If the order data variance lies outside of this acceptable range please contact Support to conduct a DIP investigation to identify and resolve discrepancies.
o?? ?DIP relies on unique Order IDs used on your website and reused Order IDs are not processed
Process:
- Client to raise a Support ticket specifying the Client ID(s) for which DIP is to be enabled for
- Support will enable DIP for the Client ID(s) and provide FTP credentials for daily a DIP file upload.
DIP filename for a single Client ID must be in this format: "DIP_<client_id>_<YYYYMMDD>.csv" - The client will need to upload the DIP file specified as per format below
| Column | Description |
| Order Date | Date of the order in one of the available formats chosen by client |
| Order ID | Should match the Order ID being sent in IBM Digital Analytics Order Tag |
| Product ID | Product ID for the line item & should match the Product ID sent in Shop 9 Tag. |
| Order Subtotal | Subtotal for the order. This should not include shipping and handling or tax. |
| Quantity | Quantity of the product purchased for this line item. |
| Unit Price | Unit price for the line item. |

Business Value of enabling DIP:
By enabling DIP the business can ensure that the IBM Digital Analytics Order data is in sync with the internal e-Commerce backend data enabling for better business insight business decisions and predictive forecasts which all rely heavily on accurate Web Analytics data. Overall this also provides assessment on the quality of data being collected and provides justification for business investment into IBM Digital Analytics
