Questions about installing a new JVM (Java Virtual Machine) to an existing cluster for Batch Process

Question & Answer

Question

You have an environment which is a single WAS (WebSphere application Server) cell with one MDM (Master Data Management) Cluster. You have 2 JVMs as members (one JVM per physical server/node). For batch process, you want to know: 1. Is it possible to install the third JVM on one of the existing physical server/node with one of the existing JVMs? In other words, you will have two JVMs in one node. 2. If the Batch JVM is in it's own cluster, how can you have it point to the same MDM Database as the existing Cluster? 3. Is it safe to run MDM within 2 separate WAS cells, with both of them actively pointing to the same Database at run time?
