Problem
An attempt to use a remote CIFS path fails. For example, WRKLNK '/QNTC/MYSERVER/*' fails to find any objects. The DSPJOBLOG command shows that there is a failure message, "Session initialization error with network server MYSERVER." The message details show that the failure message is a CPDB050 with an error code of 3025.
Resolving The Problem
The error code 3025 means that no such path could be resolved or found. This error is normally due to the name not being resolvable to an IP address. A quick fix for this issue is to add a host table entry for the system. Run the command CFGTCP and use option 10 to add an entry to define an IP address for the host name used to define the remote server.
