Abstract
This document describes the "FTP Spoolfile to IBM" function in the QMGTOOLS library.

The "FTP Spoolfile To IBM" function in QMGTOOLS allows a user to easily send spoolfiles to IBM.
Step 1 Install QMGTOOLS
If the QMGTOOLS toolkit has not yet been installed, you should refer to the following document for how to download and install the QMGTOOLS toolkit on your IBM i server.
Step 2 Type command QMGTOOLS/WRKSPLFCMD and prompt or the listed menu option in QMGTOOLS. A screen like below should appear. Choose either *USER, *JOB, or *OUTQ for how to search for spoolfiles. Note: If you are trying to find your own spoolfiles, use *USER.
Step 3 Select which files to send to IBM with the FTP to option 1. When done, press ENTER.
Step 4 After pressing ENTER from step 3, the tool will copy the spoolfile or spoolfiles into the IFS and zip into a single file. An FTP to IBM screen should appear after that.

If FTP process fails, you can retrieve the data from the IBM i and send it in manually. Make note of the file that was created. In the above example, the zip file is '/tmp/MGTOOL72_spoolfiles.zip'. Refer to the following link to sending QMGTOOLS' data to IBM manually.
