Problem

In the QLogic Converged Console (QCC) Command Line Interface (CLI) and QCC Graphical User Interface (GUI), the port numbering of the adapters is incorrect. In the GUI, the first port listed is port-2, and the second port listed is port-1. In the CLI, option 1 is port-2 and option 2 is port-1.

Symptom

In the QLogic Converged Console (QCC) Command Line Interface (CLI) and QCC Graphical User Interface (GUI), the port numbering of the adapters is incorrect.

In the GUI, the first port listed is port-2, and the second port listed is port-1. In the CLI, option 1 is port-2 and option 2 is port-1.

Affected Configurations

The system is configured with one or more of the following IBM options:

  • QLogic 16 Gigabit Fibre Channel Dual-Port Host Bus Adapter for IBM System x, option part number 00Y3341, any replacement part number
  • QLogic 16 Gigabit Fibre Channel Single-Port Host Bus Adapter for IBM System x, option part number 00Y3337, any replacement part number
  • QLogic 4 Gigabit PCI-X Fibre Channel Dual-Port Host Bus Adapter for IBM System x, option part number 39M5895, any replacement part number
  • QLogic 4 Gigabit PCI-X Fibre Channel Single-Port Host Bus Adapter for IBM System x, option part number 39M5894, any replacement part number
  • QLogic 8 Gigabit Fibre Channel Dual-Port Host Bus Adapter for IBM System x, option part number 42D0510, any replacement part number
  • QLogic 8 Gigabit Fibre Channel Single-Port Host Bus Adapter for IBM System x, option part number 42D0501, any replacement part number

Solution

This behavior will be corrected in a future release of QCC.

The target date for this release is first quarter 2013.

Workaround

The logical interfaces of the adapter shows port-2 as port-1 and port-1 as port-2.
