Answer

If a drive has been replaced in a host using the MegaCli64 commands and mega_check.pl is not available, use the commands below to view the rebuild or copyback progress.

View the pdlist to see the slot numbers and the state of the drives:

/opt/MegaRAID/MegaCli is the working directory. All of the commands will require the [Enclosure ID:Slot Number].

The above example shows slot 0 is in copyback. Use the below example to view the progress of the copyback:

[root@NZsystem-H1 MegaCli]# ./MegaCli64 -PDCpyBk -ShowProg -PhysDrv [252:0] -aall

Copyback Progress on Device at Enclosure 252, Slot 0 Completed 91% in 33 Minutes.


If the above drive state is rebuild, issue the following command:

[root@NZsystem-H1 MegaCli]# ./MegaCli64 -pdrbld -progdsply -physdrv [252:0] -aall

Device(Encl-252 Slot-0) is not in rebuild process

Exit Code: 0x00


If it is required to turn on or off the locater on a drive, use the below examples:

[root@NZsystem-H1 MegaCli]# ./MegaCli64 -PdLocate -start -physdrv [252:3] -aall

Adapter: 0: Device at EnclId-252 SlotId-3 -- PD Locate Start Command was successfully sent to Firmware

Exit Code: 0x00


[root@NZsystem-H1 MegaCli]# ./MegaCli64 -PdLocate -stop -physdrv [252:3] -aall

Adapter: 0: Device at EnclId-252 SlotId-3 -- PD Locate Stop Command was successfully sent to Firmware

Exit Code: 0x00
