APAR Error Description / Circumvention
-----------------------------------------------
Message CPF3763 was received when trying to save an object of
type *MGTCOL with attribute *PFRDTL or *PFRHST.
CORRECTION FOR APAR SE42667 :
-----------------------------
*MGTCOL objects with attributes *PFRDTL or *PFRHST can become
damaged when being concurrently updated by both Management
Central Monitors and one of the Management Central jobs
QYMEPFRCVT or QYMEARCPMA. The Management Collection Object code
has been changed to fix this problem. This fix will not correct
any previously damaged objects.
CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR SE42667 :
--------------------------------
None.
DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM FIXED FOR APAR SE42668 :
-----------------------------------------------
When viewing collections via the performance collections task
within IBM Systems Director Navigator for i5/OS, Management
Central *MGTCOLs (attributes '*PFRDTL' and '*PFRHST') may be
incorrectly shown as Collection Services *MGTCOL collections
(attribute '*PFR') .
CORRECTION FOR APAR SE42668 :
-----------------------------
When the CHGMGTCOL command is used to change the expiration date
of a Management Central *MGTCOL, that object is incorrectly
added to the collection list used by the performance collections
task within IBM Systems Director Navigator for i5/OS.
This PTF will prevent future problem instances; it will not fix
instances that have already occurred. If collections are being
incorrectly displayed by the performance collection task, the
collection list can be rebuilt by selecting the "Rebuild
Collection Table" action within the collections task.
CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR SE42668 :
--------------------------------
None.
DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM FIXED FOR APAR SE42669 :
-----------------------------------------------
Performance Explorer supports saving data to a Management
Collection Object via ENDPEX DTAOPT(*MGTCOL).
However, saving small PEX *TRACE collections takes an excessive
amount of time. About 60 seconds are spent doing apparently
nothing before status messages start appearing. This problem
does not occur when doing ENDPEX DTAOPT(*MGTCOL) on a *STATS or
*PROFILE collection.
CORRECTION FOR APAR SE42669 :
-----------------------------
ENDPEX was using the Management Collection Object code to open a
repository to save data related to the PEX *TRACE collection.
The Management Collection Object code attempted to get a lock on
the *MGTCOL but had to wait because there was already a lock on
the object. The Management Collection Object code has been
changed so that it is not necessary to obtain a lock on the
object.
CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR SE42669 :
--------------------------------
None.
