APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-----------------------------------------------
Move in June PTF issue.

CORRECTION FOR APAR SE41980 :
-----------------------------
Load and apply PTF.

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR SE41980 :
--------------------------------
None.

DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM FIXED FOR APAR SE43114 :
-----------------------------------------------
1. In V5R4 and above, when running cumulative saves, some
libraries will  unexpectedly  be  saved as full even if they
have not yet reached the force full date set in the control
group.

2. In V5R4 and above, when printing the recovery report,
multiple *LINK entries are listed rather than just the latest
one. Investigation found a missing BRMS history record from a
parallel save.

3. In V5R4 and above, the Scheduled Maintenance tasks in GUI
might show "Failed" status immediately after the task starts.
However, the task runs successfully. MSGCPFB93E was seen in the
BRMS GUI trace. BRMS now handles the MSGCPFB93E, but the
schedule info is not displayed.

4. In V6R1 and above, iNav Delete of multiple Restricted State
Interfaces only displays one in the "Confirm Delete" panel.

5. In V5R4 and above, get error MSGMCH0603 when restoring
multiple journalled objected with RSTOBJBRM.

6.  In V5R4 and above, BRMS will no longer support the option 8
"Set time" on the network panel (WRKPCYBRM *SYS option 4).  We
have created a way to still use the function, for those that
depend on it.  However, we strongly advise being careful with
this function, and make sure you are only synching the times
between systems within the same network.  To enable the "Set
Time" function, create a data area QUSRBRM/Q1ASYNTIM - CRTDTAARA
DTAARA(QUSRBRM/Q1ANOSYNTIM) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(1)

7. In V5R4 and above, expiring a volume using WRKMEDBRM produced
an endless loop and the expire function hangs. MSHMCH6902 may be
posted in the joblog

8. In V5R4 and above, archive objects to TSM server will fail
with message MSGCPF32B3

9. Auto duplication fails to copy sequence 1 if sequence 1 is
label QFILE. The DUPMEDBRM command which it submits will begin
with sequence 2 in the FROMSEQNBR parameter and as a result the
Dup Sts will not be updated to an * on the source media.

10. In V5R4 and above, when using data area QUSRBRM/Q1AALWMFDP
to duplicate parallel items onto a single volume, DUPMEDBRM with
TOSEQNBR(1) did not move the parallel items onto a single
volume.

11.  In V5R4 and above, when edit library entries in archive
control groups, it might fail with MSGBRM1131 although the lib
exists in the asp.

12.   In V6R1 and above, When setting up data area
QUSRBRM/Q1APRM to eject media on verify, media is not ejected
when verified via GUI

13.   In V6R1 and above,  when  automatic duplication is set up
and the first item in the control group to be saved is *IBM ,
*ALLUSR, *ALLPROD or *ALLTEST, QFILE is not duplicated, so dup
status is not updated.

14. In V6R1 and above, after setting up BRMS network for secure
DDM correctly, still seeing MSGCPF9190 in the job log even
though remote SQL operations work.

15. In V5R4 and above, BRMS uses the QSYRUSRA API to retrieve
the authority list of an object. But when using this API
*OBJMGT authority is required on the object  being retrieved so
it will affect BRMS function when QBRMS has not that authority
in customer's system.

16. In V5R4 and above, added latest announced release support
for INZBRM OPTION(*ESTPRDUPD) TGTRLS().

17. In V5R4 and above, if a control group only has *EXITS that
have a QNOTES/SAVDOMBRM, BRMS does not  process job queues or
subsystems if specified for the control group.

18. In V6R1 and above, when running long saves using BRMS GUI
plugin, message MSGCWLAA6003 - Could not display the portlet,
the portlet may not be started - is displayed. After this
message, no other operations can be performed.

19. In V5R4 and above, BRMS does not honor the required volume
parameter in the media policy when running parallel saves.

20. In V5R4 and above, when running incremental saves of generic
libraries in a control group with *SYNCLIB, MSGCPF3745 will be
posted if one of the libraries has been deleted and recreated
after last Full save.

21. In V6R1 and above, when tables are displayed in BRMS GUI
(iNav client) some rows might be empty. All columns for these
rows show are blank.

22.  In V5R4 and above, MSGTCP1901 is received when attempting
to add a TCP/IP address that has a 0 for one of the octets.

23. In V5R4 and above, if trying to set the restricted state TCP
at the same time via QBRM/Q1AOLD call for TCPIPIFC,  it will
fail with a MSGRNQ0202. (note, this is normally a one time setup
and should not be run in each control group)

24, In V5R4 and above, GUI allows "Versions" durations combined
with other types of duration in a Move Policy. This is not
allowed in green screen, therefore GUI added a check in this
PTF.

25. In V5R4,  the COMPACT parm on the DUPTAP command is being
externalized via a data area in BRMS.

This data area(QTEMP/Q1ADUPCOMP)  is of length 9.

This would yield current behavior.... (or if NO data area)

CRTDTAARA DTAARA(QTEMP/Q1ADUPCOMP) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(9)
VALUE('*FROMFILE')

This would yield a *YES behavior  (which is wanted on the TS7650
to physical 3584 tape)

CRTDTAARA DTAARA(QTEMP/Q1ADUPCOMP) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(9)
VALUE('*YES')

This would yield a *NO behavior  if needed:

CRTDTAARA DTAARA(QTEMP/Q1ADUPCOMP) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(9)
VALUE('*NO')

This will only apply to the job that the DUPMEDBRM(s)  is being
run in....if the DUPMEDBRM is done in batch...the creating of
the data area must be done in the batch job also.

In V6R1 and above, the COMPACT parameter has been added to the
DUPMEDBRM command.  There will be no help for the parm in V6R1
and V7R1.

Please look at the brms web page for help text for the parm.

Note:  The new auto duplication feature in V6R1 will not
directly support the new parameter on the media policy as not
all the parameters are being put on this feature.  However, by
changing the dupmedbrm command default to *DEV for the Compact
parameter, the behavior can be acquired.

26, In V6R1 and above, iNav client connecting to a system at
release prior to v6r1 displays an empty row in the "Volumes"
panel when the volume is in "initialization required" status.

27. In V5R4 and above, if there are no spoolfiles to
backup, multiple MSGCPF3770 messages would be sent per spoolfile
list.

28. In V5R4 and above, archive control groups don't allow to add
non-existing libraries to the control group. With this PTF the
library entries can be added.

29. In V5R4 and above, if the control group is set  to run
maintenance after backup completes, maintenance runs even if the
backup fails.

30. In V5R4 and above, when trying to use CPYTOTAP, CHKTAP or
ADDMEDBRM , or check or to write data to a non labeled tape and
BRMS is loaded on the system, it may fail with MSGBRM3D1D RC7.

31.  In V6R1 and V7R1 RSTDFROBJ was not happening on STRRCYBRM.
Fixed this so that it now happens every time you exit the
recovery display.  You will not see messages in the job log, but
will in the BRMS log.

32. In V5R4 and above, when running a STRRCYBRM OPTION (*ASPDEV)
ACTION(*RESTORE), incremental saves of the IFS from iASPs are
not listed

33. In V5R4 and above, When the Missing Object list is deleted,
and a control group that refers to the deleted list is run, a
MSGMCH3601 error message will be posted.

34.  In V6R1 only,  if a volume is exempt from movement, and
movement is run, a MSGBRM133B will be posted but no more volumes
will be moved.

35. In V5R4 and above, QBRM/Q1AADDCGEO API has been enhanced to
support *ALL on an *ALLUSR entry and also from the iNav client
side to allow omitting an object type from all the libraries on
the save.

36. In V5R4 and above, if user don't have authority to access
libraries in a user ASP, *USRASPAUT's are not saved for the
objects on the ASP. BRMS should swap user to QSECOFR to save the
user ASP authority when security data is saved.

37. In V5R4 and above, WRKSAVFBRM Option 9, then F12 and paging
down, displays the same page multiple times.

38. In V5R4 and above, STRMNTBRM REFREE(*YES) will cause
MSGCPF4102 at the end of maintenance.

39. In V6R1 and above, the 'Journal object list' will generate
the correct object list in print file report QP1AOD.

40. In V6R1 and above,  MSGCPC3701 is not sent to the joblog
when saving objects with SAVOBJBRM.

41. In V5R4 and above, MSGSQL0335 may occur  on systems using
different CCSIDs for text fields in BRMS files
