use system memory addresses not generated by the IBM translator,
including programs that circumvent control technology designed to limit
interactive capacity to purchased levels. This PTF may be a prerequisite

APAR Error Description / Circumvention

Packets sent to the IPv4 all-systems multicast address
(224.0.0.1) and packets sent to IPv6 Interface-Local scope
multicast addresses (ff01::...) may not be received.
CORRECTION FOR APAR MA45938 :
-----------------------------
The list of valid addresses that should be accepted on the
network interface was sometimes not being updated when an IPv4
interface was started or when an interface-local scope IPv6
multicast group was joined by an application, resulting in
packets to those destinations being silently discarded.
