use system memory addresses not generated by the IBM translator,
including programs that circumvent control technology designed to limit

APAR Error Description / Circumvention

An IPL of the IOP while a tape library is being varied on or off
may cause the vary to wait forever in a deadlock or not
complete.
CORRECTION FOR APAR MA44548 :

Code changes were made to improve the vary processing for a tape
library to prevent some of the wait or failure conditions.
CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR MA44548 :

DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM FIXED FOR APAR MA44632 :
-----------------------------------------------
A MSGCPF4315 may be sent at tape file open time when the volume
identifier is read.
CORRECTION FOR APAR MA44632 :
-----------------------------
There is a timing problem where the read of the volume
identifier could get sent too early causing the tape to be
rewound after the volume identifier is read and cause the
MSGCPF4315 to be sent.
The code has been changed to fix the timing problem.
