APAR Error Description / Circumvention

When sharing a tape drive in a tape library between systems a
volume change may go undetected so the operating system may
think the current volume is still mounted on a drive. This may
cause a command to fail with MSGCPI401A and possibly MSGCPA4268.

CORRECTION FOR APAR 'MA42225' :
-------------------------------
This PTF enables collection of additional data to try to
determine why the volume change is undetected.

Special Instructions


1. Before loading and applying this PTF ensure there is no tape
activity on the system.  Allow all jobs using tape to end.
Once these jobs are ended vary all tape devices and libraries off.
2. Load and apply this PTF.
3. Vary the tape devices and libraries back on.
