Application of this PTF may disable or render ineffective programs that
use system memory addresses not generated by the IBM translator,
including programs that circumvent control technology designed to limit
interactive capacity to purchased levels. This PTF may be a prerequisite
for future PTFs. By applying this PTF you authorize and agree to the

Code', the terms of which were provided in a printed document that was
delivered with the machine.

APAR Error Description / Circumvention

If an operation to a D/T3494 is started too soon after ending to
the restricted state it may fail because TCP/IP was not fully
ended prior to trying to restart it in the restricted state.
CORRECTION FOR APAR MA41834 :
-----------------------------
A check was added to see if TCP/IP is still ending and to delay
and retry instead of just failing.
CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR MA41834 :

Special Instructions
1. Before loading and applying this PTF ensure there is no tape
activity on the system. Allow all jobs using tape to end.
Once these jobs are ended vary all tape devices and libraries off.
2. Load and apply this PTF.
3. Vary the tape devices and libraries back on.
