APAR Error Description / Circumvention
-------------------------------------------------
When certain Product Activity Log (PAL) entries are logged, a
small amount of memory remains allocated which results in a
fragmented heap or the heap filling up. A heap allocation may
then fail causing the tape operation to fail and a VL2E000E002
LIC log entry to be logged.
A save following a SETTAPCGY may fail with a MSGCPF5401 and an
automatic flight recorder dump.
A save to a tape library may fail with MSGCPA4089 or MSGCPA4090
if a tape drive is in the process of being automatically cleaned
by the tape library.
Mounting a cleaning cartridge fails with MSGCPF6760.
CORRECTION FOR APAR 'MA40033' :
-------------------------------
The tape device driver has been changed to free the memory which
will reduce the possibility of fragmenting the heap or running
out of heap memory.
A SETTAPCGY command issued immediately after a tape command that
issued a rewind may cause the rewind to be cancelled leaving the
tape device driver in an error state. The tape device driver has
been changed to properly handle cancelling a rewind.
The tape device driver has been changed to handle automatic
cleaning or mounting of a cleaning cartridge better.
