Troubleshooting
Problem
Proxy authentication error occurs when updating a product from the internet using the IBM Installation Manager.
Symptom
You may also see timeout errors in the installation log files.
Resolving The Problem
WORKAROUNDS:
- Perform a local update by-passing the internet.
- Attempt to increase the low level network time-outs. These time-outs default to 30 seconds.
This can be changed by adding the following lines to the file 'com.ibm.cic.agent.core.prefs' which is typically located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM\Installation Manager\.settings\
com.ibm.cic.common.core.preferences.connectTimeout=3600
com.ibm.cic.common.core.preferences.readTimeout=3600
Note: The values above will set the timeout to 3600 seconds.
The values take effect after restarting Installation Manager.
Note: These values do not affect the Packaging Utility.
