Prospect Web reports fail with "Connection lost contact" errors

Troubleshooting


Problem

PWeb reports are failing with Oracle errors: "connection lost contact".

Symptom

The PWeb Status Monitor shows scheduled reports failing with errors:

[SERVERRROR]: ORA-03135: connection lost contact

The report logs show entries like:



CONNECT: ORA-03135: connection lost contact
## connect: 60.1524s.
loader:
Connection to flexpm for flexpm/flexpm failed:-3135
: ORA-03135: connection lost contact
loader: Failed to connect to Oracle.

The Oracle alert log (alert_flexpm.log) shows entries like:

WARNING: inbound connection timed out (ORA-3136)
