Extend the capabilities of your high-density IBM BladeCenter with AMD Opteron LS20 for IBM BladeCenter blade servers that include AMD Opteron 32/64-bit processors running at speeds of 2.0GHz, 2.4GHz, 2.6GHz Single Core, and 2.0GHz Dual Core - all with 1MB L2 cache per core.

Notes:

  • The BladeCenter chassis supports installation of up to 14, hot-swap AMD Opteron LS20 for IBM BladeCenter blade servers.
  • Each AMD Opteron LS20 for IBM BladeCenter supports two Opteron processors for a total of 28 processors for each BladeCenter chassis.
  • The system comes standard with one AMD Opteron processor.
  • An additional processor may be added by purchasing a supported processor option for Two-way SMP processing with a 1GHz HyperTransport processor link.
  • Processor upgrades come with:
    • Opteron processor
    • Heat sink
    • Installation publications/warranty
  • These processors are low power, full performance Opteron processors. With customers concerned with power consumption and heat output these unique low power processors will help to reduce the operational cost in deploying these blades.
  • The Opteron processors support 64-bit operating systems from Red Hat Linux, SUSE Linux, and Microsoft.
  • These processors can also run in legacy mode (where a 32-bit application is running under a 64-bit operating system) and remain fully compatible with 32-bit applications and operating systems.
  • N = Field replaceable unit (FRU): FRUs must be installed only by trained service technicians.
