Problems printing reports with different orientations or paper sizes

Problem

This technote documents a problem that can occur when trying to print a report to landscape orientation or different paper sizes in the IBM® Rational® ClearQuest® Windows client.

Symptom

When printing reports in any of these versions of ClearQuest, the properties in the printer dialog screen default to the system's default printer settings regardless of the size or orientation in which the report is authored.

For example, if a report is authored as a legal-sized document, merely clicking on the Print Report button and then OK will result in the report being printed with letter-sized paper (should that be the system's default settings.)

Additionally, it is possible that changing the settings in the same printer properties screen generated by the Crystal Reports viewer will not have any effect, and the report will still print in the system's default printing format.
