Content

Error:
Updating IBM Developer for z Systems to 14.1.3.0 is not allowed, the package is not compatible with Data Studio client 4.1.3.
Or
Updating IBM Developer for z Systems to 14.1.7.1 is not allowed, the package is not compatible with Data Studio client 4.1.3.
Solution
Over time, there have been technical changes that require Developer for z Systems v14.1.x and Data Studio v4.1.3 to synchronize at certain levels. The latest level of Developer for z Systems v14.1.x and the compatible version of Data Studio v4.1.3 are available from the Mainframe Dev website (https://developer.ibm.com/mainframe/products/downloads/eclipse-tools/). The levels of Data Studio available on the Mainframe Dev website have Data Studio APAR fixes included; therefore, service provided via Fix Central for the initial release level of Data Studio v4.1.3 does not install with the 2018 and 2019 versions of Data Studio listed below. It is recommended to obtain software updates from the Mainframe Dev Center as the software located there is updated frequently to include new service levels and they are tested for compatibility with other offerings. Attempting to apply service from other locations, such as Fix Central, could lead to incompatibilities when multiple software offerings are installed together.
Following are the Developer for z Systems v14.1.x and Data Studio v4.1.3 levels that are compatible:
| Versions of Developer for z Systems | Compatible with These Levels of Data Studio |
| 14.1 through 14.1.2 | 4.1.3 Internal Version 4.1.3.20171208 |
| 14.1.3 through 14.1.7 | 4.1.3 Internal Version 4.1.3.20180611 |
| 14.1.7.1 (and future fixpacks) 14.2.0 (and future fixpacks) | 4.1.3.6 Internal Version 4.1.3.20190828 |
