Problem running rs_install, Error : bad interpreter: No such file or directory

Troubleshooting

Problem

When using rs_install to install Rose® RealTime on Linux the following error message is displayed: : bad interpreter: No such file or directory

Cause

One possible cause of this problem can be that Winzip® have been used to unzip the archive.

Another cause of this problem can be that there is a "noexec" in force on the partition where rs_install script is located.

Resolving The Problem

If Winzip have been used to unzip the archive. Try to copy the archive to the Linux machine and use tar and gzip to extract the archive. If the archive have been updated by Winzip it might be necessary to download the archive again.

If there is a "noexec" in force on the partition where the rs_install script is located, examine the file /etc/fstab to determine if this is the cause.
