Error Message -
PPX Load Error: The file \report.ppx is not a valid ppx report.
Solution:
Open the *.ppx file in your favorite XML editor. You will receive an error pointing you to a specific line and character number.
Open the *.ppx file in another editor such as Programmer File Editor (pfe32.exe) and toggle the line numbering to on.
Go to the line number indicated in the error returned by the XML editor. In this case, the line above the indicated one as well as some following were as follows -
Note that there is an extra double quote at the end of the lines, remove them as follows -
Save the *.ppx and try to open it again in PowerPlay client. You should now be able to open the report without an issue.
It is strongly recommended that all users be on the same version and build of PowerPlay Client. In this case, both builds 436 and 625 were being used and users were accessing common files on a shared drive. Once all users were upgraded to build 625, all users were able to open the "repaired" *.ppx files.
