Problem

PowerVP GUI client installs on Windows, This install may fail in some configurations returning error Windows error 2 occurred while loading the Java VM

Symptom

Install fails
Windows error 2 occurred while loading the Java VM

Cause

InstallAnyWhere defect

Environment

PowerVP 1.1.3 or prior

Windows OS with ONLY Java 8 installed

Resolving The Problem

A few options exist.

1. install Java 7 on the PC

OR

2. attempt to install a directed install from Windows command prompt


powervp.exe LAX_VM "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_65\bin\java.exe'

Where powervp.exe is in the current directory

Where :\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_65\bin\java.exe is the location of java.exe on your PC
