Troubleshooting
Problem
There is a possible memory leak if the Oracle JDBC-OCI driver is used when enabling WebSphere Application Server connection pooling.
Symptom
Memory considerations when enabling WebSphere Application Server connection pooling with the Oracle JDBC-OCI driver of Oracle 10gR2 and Oracle 11gR2 for IBM Content Manager eClient V8.4.3 (Oracle SR 3-3358341611). Enabling WebSphere Application Server connection pooling with the Oracle JDBC-OCI driver of Oracle 10gR2 and Oracle 11gR2 for IBM Content Manager eClient 8.4.3 might result in continuous memory increases of the eClient server process. The amount of the increasing memory might be 0.35 KB per operation for Oracle 10gR2 JDBC-OCI driver and 7.5 KB per operation for the Oracle 11gR2 JDBC-OCI driver, according to our observation. If the eClient server runs for a long time with a considerable number of concurrent users, the memory increase could get rather significant and might cause the server to crash or hang eventually.
