Ports not used by the Server or any Client can show up in netstat output

Troubleshooting

Problem

Port addresses that are not configured for use by Spectrum Protect  server or any  client can appear in the  O/S netstat command output as part of a connection to a client system

Symptom

In the O/S netstat command output ( run on the server) , you may see connections to client systems that show a port address that is not being used on the server or any client. In the following example the port address 17xx is not configured to be used, yet they show up in the netstat output like the following:

Your_host_name1    (111.222.333.444 1712).
Your_host_name2    (111.222.333.555 1713).
Your_host_name3    (111.222.333.666 1714).
