An error message such as the one that follows can occur when Dynamic System Analysis (DSA) Preboot 9.20 attempts to parse the packaged xml.gz file generated by DSA: not well-formed (invalid token. at line 59537, column 40, byte 2188090 Both users andService Support Representatives (SSRs) can encounter this issue when running DSA on either Microsoft Windows or Linux, on a collection gathered from any operating system (Windows, Linux, VMware, Preboot). Users might see this error if they run DSA with the following sample arguments: DSA.exe -i -v An SSR also can see the message when parsing the corrupted file on Multitool.

An error message such as the one that follows can occur when Dynamic System Analysis (DSA) Preboot 9.20 attempts to parse the packaged xml.gz file generated by DSA:

Both users and Service Support Representatives (SSRs) can encounter this issue when running DSA on either Microsoft Windows or Linux, on a collection gathered from any operating system (Windows, Linux, VMware, Preboot).

Users might see this error if they run DSA with the following sample arguments:

	DSA.exe -i <input.xml.gz> -v

An SSR also can see the message when parsing the corrupted file on Multitool.

Note: This does not imply that the network operating system will work under all combinations of hardware and software.

Solution

This issue is fixed in DSA 9.21.A1J and later versions.

Note: After a particular collection .xml.gz file is corrupted internally, it is corrupted permanently. No version of DSA will be able to parse it.

Capture a new collection using DSA 9.21.A1J or a later version, in order to obtain valid data.

The file is or will be available by selecting the appropriate Product Group, type of System, Product name, Product machine type, and Operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the following URL:

	http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/

Workaround

Use the newer version of DSA to run data collection in the same environment. The xml.gz file generated by the newer version of DSA can be parsed by this newer version of DSA itself.

Additional Information

In the packaged xml.gz file generated by DSA, the format of the class 'CIM_ConcreteJob' is different from the format of other classes in the packaged file.

The format of the class 'CIM_ConcreteJob' is not supported by the current Common Information Model (CIM) used by DSA. The reason is that the class 'CIM_ConcreteJob' is used for the newly integrated CIM provider of NVIDIA, whose class is generated by the CIM of a later version than the CIM used by DSA.
