Abstract
SIP Proxy should use default SIP port numbers rather than ephemeral port numbers for reconnect scenarios.
Download Description
PM51915 resolves the following problem:
ERROR DESCRIPTION:?
Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Proxy should use default port
numbers rather than ephemeral ports for reconnect scenarios
LOCAL FIX:?
PROBLEM SUMMARY:?
USERS AFFECTED:
All users of IBM WebSphere Application
Server Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)
Proxy
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
SIP Proxy should use default SIP port
numbers rather than ephemeral port
numbers for reconnect scenarios.
RECOMMENDATION:
None
If a SIP Proxy receives a SIP response from the Application
Server, and it does not have an existing TCP/TLS
client connection, it creates a connection to the client. It
currently uses the port specified in the VIA header to
reconnect to. If the port listed in the VIA is invalid, the
connection will fail.
PROBLEM CONCLUSION:?
If a reconnect has to occur, we will check the port in the VIA
header. If it is above the maximum listed in the new custom
property, we will use the default SIP ports (5060 and 5061).
To enable this fix, in the administrative console, go to the
"WebSphere proxy servers > proxy > SIP proxy settings > Custom
properties page. Add a custom property with name
"maxViaHeaderPortNumber" and set the value to the maximum
valid port number.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.23 and 8.0.0.3. Please refer to the Recommended
