Problem Description:
A NullPointerException happens when expiration timers expire at the same time that the application is invalidating the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) application session:

PROBLEM SUMMARY:

USERS AFFECTED:
All Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) users of IBM WebSphere Application Server V7.0

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
NullPointerException is thrown when a SIP application session is expired.

RECOMMENDATION:
None

Race condition between SIP application session expiration and explicit invalidation is causing to a NullPointerException to get thrown.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The race condition is solved such that SIP application session expiration and explicit invalidation can not happen at the same time.
