This article explains how to customize the appearance and behavior of the IBM Video Streaming player through the Player Settings menu. It covers adding custom branding or removing player branding entirely, as well as enabling or disabling viewer metrics displayed during live broadcasts and video-on-demand content. The guide also provides recommendations for logo sizing and explains where viewer counts appear within the player interface.

 

The Player Settings tab in the Channels section of your dashboard allows you to customize player branding and control whether viewer metrics are displayed for live broadcasts and video on demand content.

Player Branding

You can customize the player by adding your own logo.

  1. Go to the Player Settings tab for your channel.
  2. Select Custom Branding.
  3. Choose the logo file you want to upload.
  4. Click Upload.
  5. Click Save.

Note: The recommended maximum image size is 288 x 96 pixels.

After saving, the custom branding will appear in the bottom-right corner of the player.

No Branding

If you do not want branding to appear on the player, select No Branding and click Save.

Show Viewer Metrics

Viewer metrics can be displayed on both live broadcasts and video on demand content.

  • For live broadcasts, viewer metrics appear in the lower-left corner of the player.
  • For VOD content, viewer information appears next to each video thumbnail.

Disable Viewer Count

To hide viewer metrics:

  1. Go to the Player Settings tab.
  2. Uncheck Display number of viewers.
  3. Click Save.

After saving, the viewer count will no longer be displayed on the player.
