PING SERVER command is slow to return

Troubleshooting

Problem

When issuing server command PING SERVER, the command returns successfully after running for 40 to 60 seconds, where the expectation is to return in about one second.

Symptom

The trace of the PING SERVER command returns the following line:
3:25:49.220 [540][tcpcomm.c][899][tcpQueryAddress]: rc -3 errno 2 from getnameinfo

The slow response comes from the server issuing system call getnameinfo. This system call is used to take the server IP address, and get the hostname associated with the server address. In this case errno 2, means the call could not get a hostname associated with the server address.
