Abstract

MQDefaultSSLSettings, and other SSL configurations including the substring "DefaultSSLSettings", ignored in 8.5.5.26, 9.0.5.20, and 9.0.5.21

Systems with IFPH63788 but not IFPH645161 may additionally fail to recognize the non-default com.ibm.websphere.ssl.fallback.for.none property or fail to automatically fallback for aliases of the form "<name>/DefaultSSLSettings"

IFPH65161 resolves the following related problems, refer to the links for full details:
  • PH63778
    After upgrading WAS to 9.0.5.20, 9.0.5.21, or 8.5.5.26, customers using SSL configurations with names including "DefaultSSLSettings", such as MQDefaultSSLSettings, experienced TLS handshake errors with MQ.
  • PH65161 
    After upgrading to WAS 9.0.5.22 or 8.5.5.27, or any previous fix pack with interim fix IFPH63778, SSL communication may fail in some configurations:
    • With non-default property 'com.ibm.websphere.ssl.fallback.for.none'
    • With Java Proxy and Java ODRs with references to "The specified sslAlias : <NAME> does not exist." where <NAME> ends with "/DefaultSSLSettings" rather than being exactly "DefaultSSLSettings'
