Permissions error message when attempting to create or modify a labeling scheme in IBM i2 iBase

Troubleshooting

Problem

When using Data Access Control settings in i2 iBase to deny users access to certain Entities/Fields in iBase Designer, these users are not able to create/modify Labeling Schemes in iBase User. They need to be able deny access to certain Entities/Fields and still have these users be able to create/modify their own Labeling Schemes.

Symptom

The following error message is displayed:

"You do not have the necessary permissions to create/modify a labeling scheme."

Cause

Working as designed.

Resolving The Problem

There is an enhancement request for this. Enhancement Request #24345- Labelling Schema denied.

WORKAROUND:
At the present, the only suggestion is to have an Admin user that is part of a Security Group for Data Acess Control that has NO "deny access" selections for tables or fields. Or for that particular user having the error, you will have to toggle OFF the "deny access" selections.
