Problem
This document contains instructions for permanently applying all PTFs.
Resolving The Problem
To permanently apply all PTFs, on the operating system command line type the following:
APYPTF LICPGM(*ALL) APY(*PERM) DELAYED(*YES) IPLAPY(*YES)
Press the Enter key. Then, perform an unattended IPL.
If you are permanently applying PTFs in an attempt to gain more DASD space, it is also recommend to issue command DLTPTF *ALL. This command will delete all PTF save files and cover letters.

If you are permanently applying PTFs in an attempt to gain more DASD space, it is also recommend to issue command DLTPTF *ALL. This command will delete all PTF save files and cover letters.
To perm apply an individual PTF for product 57xx999 (Licensed Internal Code) when the system is running on the B side, use a command like the following to perm apply the fix immediately:
APYPTF LICPGM(5770999) SELECT(MFxxxxx) APY(*PERM) APYREQ(*YES)
To perm apply an OS or LPP fix, first review the cover letter. All special instructions must be followed in order to perm apply the fix. If the PTF is immediate, use a command like the following:
APYPTF LICPGM(5770yyy) SELECT(SIxxxxx) APY(*PERM) APYREQ(*YES)
If the PTF or any of its requisites is delayed, use a command like the following:
APYPTF LICPGM(5770yyy) SELECT(SIxxxxx) APY(*PERM) DELAYED(*YES) APYREQ(*YES)
