Question & Answer
Question
Does IBM Netezza support AES encryption of passwords?
Answer
For NPS 4.6.6 and later, AES-256 is the default encryption method for NPS host and client password storage. AES encryption has several modes of operation (ECB, CBC, CFB, OFB, and CTR). Netezza uses OFB (Output Feedback) mode for all encrypt/decrypt functions. The output returned by AES encryption depends on several factors, such as operation mode, key size, and key implementation.
