If you are going to manage parcel shipments in Sterling TMS you mustdefine shipper and carrier contracts for one or more parcel carriers.

Definethe following levels in a parcel contract:

Contract

In the contract level enter the parcel SCAC for the carrier:

• DHL: You must specify DHX as the SCAC.
• Federal Express: You must specify FDX asthe SCAC.
• UPS: You must specify UPS as the SCAC.

If you use a different SCAC the parcel rating system doesnot return rates for the parcel carrier.

Section

Define one contract section using the following settings:

• Mode: Parcel
• Service Type: All
• Fleet Type: Preferred
• Movement Type: Interplant Outbound Inbound
• Equipment: *All
• Tariff: Pierbridge
• Section FAK: Leave blank
• Section Discount: Leave blank
• Minimum Charge: Leave blank

Rating Lane

Define one rating lane for the area of service covered by thecarrier. Sterling TMS obtainsthe rate from the parcel rating system.

Use the following settingsto define the lane:

• Origin: USA
• Destination: USA
• Rating Method Leave blank
• Rate: Leave blank
• Discount: Leave blank

Accessorials

You can add accessorials to your contract with a parcel carrier.For example you might have to define an accessorial to cover hazardousprocessing charges.
