On IBM i 7.6, the data-change-table support for DELETE and UPDATE (SQL) statements opens the door to parallel execution.
To leverage this support, the connection needs to be using commitment control, where the transaction isolation level is set to something other than *NONE or *NC.
IBM i Access Client Solutions (ACS) includes examples showing how to leverage parallel DELETE and parallel UPDATE.
