Problem
When running DSA on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 in run level 3 (text-mode via CTRL+ALT+F1), error messages may appear during the collection of Disk Management information, such as "ATAPI device hdc: packet command error." This condition has no effect on the collection of data.

Run DSA in the Linux run level 5 (KDE, GNOME, or Xwindow shells). The error messages will not appear.

These messages are produced when DSA executes Linux commands to obtain device information. The messages are displayed in run level 3, but are hidden from the user in run level 5.
