Troubleshooting
Problem
Using P8 FileNET Deployment Manager to analyze assets, you get a class exception error.
Symptom
The following error will appear in the deployment.log when analyzing assets:

Cause
The issue is a mismatch between the Content Platform Engine (CPE) client and server jar files. FDM was not on the same CPE client patch level as the Content Platform Engine server.

Diagnosing The Problem
Check the following:
- PE.jar file for CPE client which is located in the same directory as the installation for the CPE client. Use Winzip to view the pe-ver.properties file contained within the PE.jar file and check the version. /apps/ECM/FileNet/ContentEngine/lib/pe.jar
- Make sure the version that you see in the pe-ver.properties file matches the CE ping page for CE server.
- Check the PE.jar file for FileNET Deployment Manager as well. C:\IBM\FileNet\ContentEngine\tools\deploy\plugins\com.filenet.pecore_5.2.0
Resolving The Problem
Reinstall the CPE client to match CE server version.
