Question & Answer

Question

Overview - Rating and Billing

Answer

The Highdeal Billing and Rating system is a module designed to create billing input to the DSW system for those charges that either are not handled by the SAP system or cannot be calculated by that system.? Such items as usage based overage straight metered usage and subscription billing for non-charge agreement orders can be processed by the Highdeal system.? The system itself is composed of:

  • A Batch Acquisition and Rating Tool (BART) which processes usage information from the various offerings associates the usage (CDR?s ? Customer Detail Record) with the proper customer entitlement and rates the usage for inclusion in the customer?s invoice.
  • A transactive tool which controls the rating of subscription information and manages the rated transactions from all sources to generate a summarized input to the invoicing system.? The Transactive module also controls what usage is rated during a particular billing cycle.
  • Other modules that manage the exchange of data between Highdeal and external systems.? This includes the management of raw usage files being sent to Highdeal for processing the generation of files for reporting and the exporting of data for processing by the DSW SAP invoicing system.

Highdeal is an ASCA approved system that allows offerings to perform the calculation for pricing of the data with the necessary business controls to insure accurate generation of billing information.
