Overview of Pricing Service
The PricingService is a component of IBM? SterlingConfigure Price Quote on Cloud. It actsas a hub for every pricing calculation; even if pricing data is passedto a third party the data is funneled back through the Pricing Servicebefore being passed to the consuming application.
The Pricing Service provides the ability to storeand maintain all the pricing data at the Pricing Organization. Eitheran organization can be defined as a Pricing Organization and maintainits own pricing data or an organization can specify a Pricing Organizationof its choice.
The Pricing Service enables users to define pricelists maintain prices for each product define quantity tiers andassign price lists either directly to customers or indirectly to customerattributes. The Pricing Service uses price lists pricing rules andcustomer assignments to manage customers' access to products and appropriateprices. For example a Pricing Organization can define prices basedon criteria such as the quantity of items ordered the importanceof the customer the region where the item is sold and the time periodduring which the item is sold. Price lists and pricing rules are definedand managed by the Pricing Organization. The assignment of customersor customer attributes to a price list or pricing rule is definedand managed by an Enterprise.
