The orderable part number for the new IBM Netfinity 10/100 Ethernet Adapter 2 is 34L1501. This adapter is based on the new Intel 82559 Fast Ethernet chipset technology. The new IBM Netfinity 10/100 Ethernet Adapter 2 will provide the same base functions and server features that the current 34L0901 Intel 82558-based adapter provides. In addition, the new IBM Netfinity 10/100 Ethernet Adapter 2 will offer these new enhancements or new features:

• Wake on LAN capability for both PCI 2.1 and PCI 2.2 standards for IBM servers that can support Wake on LAN
• PCI 2.2 compliant (or Universal PCI) for both 3.3V and 5V planer support
• PCI 2.2 compliant also means that the adapter PCI connector is designed to fit into either 32-bit PCI slot or 64-bit PCI slot (note that the adapter itself is still a 32-bit PCI adapter)
• On-board boot rom module for remote boot option

• Enhanced Full Teaming support for both Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 and Novell NetWare 4.1x and 5,
• including AFT, ALB, and FEC
• IEEE 802.1p and 802.1q for Priority Packets and VLAN support
• Complete Netfinity Hot Plug support with Netfinity hot-plug capable servers
• Support SCO 3, SCO5, Unixware 2.x and Unixware 7
• DMI-SNMP support and Tivoli Management Agent support
• IBM LCCM support with the latest LCCM v2.5x release or later

Note: LCCM v2.5x will be supported for PXE 2.0 boot only. RPL boot is NOT supported with LCCM version 2.5x.
