Overview

Take advantage of solid performance and maximum productivity with a SpacePilot 3D controller.

At the heart of this design revolution are twenty-one intelligently placed speed keys, each with pre-programmed functions assigned for specific applications of your choice, or you can customize the speed keys to help increase efficiency.

SpacePilot Controller Cap

The main element of SpacePilot is the Controller Cap, which contains a six degrees-of-freedom optical sensor. The Controller Cap allows the following movements:

  • Horizontal shift in x-direction and z-direction
  • Vertical shift in y-direction
  • Rotational tilt around x-axis and z-axis, plus twist around y-axis
  • In the same way the user moves the handle of SpacePilot, the model moves on the screen. Thus, panning, zooming and rotation can be done simultaneously.

The intelligent motion controller

Innovative inside and out, SpacePilot offers:

  • An LCD screen that displays available functions in current applications
  • Ergonomics that speak to your comfort with an all new sleek, sophisticated design
  • Twenty-one plus (21+) speed keys to help increase efficiency

SpacePilot has the following keys:

  • Fit key: Selecting this button will zoom-to-fit your model or drawing
  • Modifier keys: Esc, Alt, Shift, Ctrl. These buttons are identical in functionality to keys on the keyboard.
  • ]Control keys:
  • Config: Press this key to toggle through application configurations. Each time you press the Config button, the next listed
configuration will become active and display on the LCD.
  • Panel: This button opens the control panel on your desktop. The control panel allows you to easily configure the button mapping.
  • Sensitivity keys: -, + Decreases or increases the overall sensitivity of SpacePilot.
  • Dom: Restricts rotation and translation movement to a single axis at a time. This can help you learn to use the SpacePilot
    controller.
  • View keys: T, L, R, F. Space Pilot provides four buttons for selecting preprogrammed views. Most applications are defaulted to Top (T), Left (L), Right (R) and Front (F). These buttons are reprogrammable to other views and functions.
  • 3D Lock: For CAD applications, select this button to turn off rotations. SpacePilot will then only pan and zoom. For DCC applications, select this button to turn on 3DViewLock, which allows you to move your cursor in an orthogonal view while
navigating with SpacePilot in a 3D view.
