The SAS Connectivity Module is required to provide the following basic functionality:

  • Support for both BladeCenter E and BladeCenter T Chassis
  • Support for BladeCenter H and BladeCenter HT chassis
  • Support for BladeCenter S
  • Standard blade module form factor with fourteen internal 1X SAS ports and four external 4X SAS ports
Features

The IBM BladeCenter SAS Connectivity Module enables connectivity to the IBM BladeCenter Disk Boot System SAS fabric and to 3 Gb SAS fabric connectivity, and includes the following key features:

  • Standard I/O module form factor with fourteen internal 1X SAS ports and four 4X external SAS ports
  • Uses the Vitesse SAS Expander 7157 ASIC and Vitesse API software interface
  • Connectivity module via CLI, Web Browser, and IBM Storage Configuration Manager
  • Supports SAS Zoning capability
