Troubleshooting
Problem
Outbound SWIFT message does not error if an invalid character (e.g. "&") is used in the data.
Symptom
Swift inbound message is failing when "&" character is in the data for MT101 File Format Description field. This is correct behavior.
No error message is reported if an "&" character is used in an outbound message.
For example, if you mapped the string “NAME & ADDR” to the name and address subfield of SWIFT field 50H in an MT101, no error would be generated on the output side even though ‘&’ is not a valid character for that field.
