Oracle Listener refused the connection with JDBC Gateway

Troubleshooting

Problem

The JDBC Gateway fails to connect to the configured SID. A message from the Listener states it does not know of the requested service.

Symptom

The Gateway has been configured with the following URL property:

Gate.Jdbc.Url: 'jdbc:oracle:thin:@10.176.152.245:1521/W2K3ORACLE;'

The following messages appear in the log (G_JDBC.log is the default name for the log)

2013-11-14T12:29:14: Error: E-GJA-000-000: [ngjava]: G_JDBC: Thread-7: In logException
2013-11-14T12:29:14: Error: E-GJA-000-000: [ngjava]: G_JDBC: Thread-7: Listener refused the connection with the following error:
ORA-12514, TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor
