ORA-00936: missing expression error when trying to refresh stats in transformation using data rules

Problem

When a map is created using enable oracle join option, in some instances when a data rule transformation is generated using null as one of the values in source following error is generated when refreshing statistics. ODBCError: ODBC Error Message [HY000:936]: [Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-00936: missing expression

Cause

This issue is caused by Oracle defect 5188321.

Resolving The Problem

Please make sure that correct Oracle patch with a fix for this defect is applied. The Oracle patch levels that have this issue fixed are:
    9.2.0.8 Patch 1 on Windows Platforms
    10.2.0.3 Patch 13 on Windows Platforms
    10.2.0.4 (Server Patch Set)
    11.1.0.6 (Base Release)
