Resolving The Problem
The following description of operating system objects is taken from the AS/400 Programming Reference Summary V4R4.
"Operating System/400 (OS/400) objects provide the means through which all data processing information is stored and processed by the AS/400 system. An OS/400 object is a named unit that exists (occupies space) in storage and on which operations are performed by the OS/400 operating system. Each object has a set of descriptive attributes that are defined when the object is created."
