OpenVMS Backup Saveset fails to open on the receiving OpenVMS system using Sterling Connect:Direct for OpenVMS

Problem

When copying large backup saveset files from one OpenVMS to another OpenVMS, the files appear to get corrupted. The files get sent OK, but when the restore is run. there are errors. The transfer without using Sterling Connect:Direct for OpenVMS works perfectly. These errors only occur when using Sterling Connect:Direct for OpenVMS to transfer the backup saveset files.

Symptom

After the saveset file backup is on the receiving OpenVMS system, and opened, this message is returned.
%BACKUP-F-COMPERR, error encountered in compression facility while compressing a backup record
-BACKUP-E-COMPINTERR, internal compression error: -3

No errors appear in the Sterling Connect:Direct for OpenVMS statistics

Using this parameter in the saveset file backup:
BACKUP/LOG *.NEW;0 [.SAVESETS]VERTEX_201402.BCK/SAVE/DATA_FORMAT=COMPRESS
