Troubleshooting
Problem
Opening work items in Microsoft® Visual Studio 2019 crashes the IDE.
If a user has the Windows 10 April 2018 Update or a newer build installed along with the latest version of .NET Framework 4.8, then per-monitor DPI awareness is enabled and turned on in Visual Studio 2019. This option ensures the UI elements appear crisp in any monitor display scale factor and DPI configuration, including across multiple monitors. However, it causes the Engineering Workflow Management client for Visual Studio 2019 to crash the IDE when work items or work item queries are opened. Also, opening any EWM windows that display in the multiple-document interface (MDI) area of Visual Studio 2019 results in blank windows.
