Oniqua Analytics Solution-Notes

Overview

The Notes window is called from many screens, and allows notes to be entered for a particular record. Each time a user adds a note, that note is appended to the top of the existing notes, along with the username and a datestamp.

The Notes field is where one can identify the authority for making a change and provides an important audit feature.

A Note should be created whenever action is taken on a record to change from the default settings. This rule is particularly important for the following fields:

  • Business Impact

  • Work Around Option

  • Stockout/Expedite Cost

  • Purchase Order Line Cost

  • Holding Cost

  • Price

  • Lead Time

How to...

Enter Notes

  • Select the Notes button on the Main Header Details section of the Group View Window. The button may present in one of two ways:

    • User-added image The button presents as a blank document when there are no existing notes present.

    • User-added image The button presents as a document with a magnifying glass if existing notes are present.

If a group view window is fully expanded, the notes will appear in a field on the right hand side of the header as below:

  • Enter notes into the New Notes pane. The window allows scrolling if the message is longer than the viewable part of the pane.

  • When OK is selected the date and the User Name will automatically be appended to the memo and the notes will be saved.

  • Previous notes are displayed in the lower pane. The new notes will appear in the bottom pane when the Notes Dialog is reopened.

  • To close the window without saving the notes click on Cancel.
