The Onboarding Process
Onboarding is the name of the process during which IBM? sets up your companyand your trading partners to access an IBM web service.
You will receive help from IBM in getting started.The following table shows the general sequence of steps in the onboardingprocess. The columns on the right show who performs the task: a designatedperson from IBM oryour company contact person. The steps after the table correspondto the steps in the table and provide additional information.

- After your trading partners are onboarded IBM sends you informationon how to contact IBM customersupport for assistance in the future.
Welcome Letter and Questionnaire
After you contractfor an IBM web service the IBM Onboarding groupe-mails a Welcome Letter and questionnaire to your company's contactperson for the service. The questionnaire requests information thathelps IBM set upyour connection such as:
- document types to be sent and received (such as purchase orderand invoice)
- format of documents to be sent and received (such as XML cXML)
- names of trading partners
