Problem
This technote describes a possible cause for IBM® Rational® Robot installation failure, and provides the solution for this problem.
Cause
This problem can potentially be caused by a dll conflict with another brand testing product that may already be installed on the system.
Resolving The Problem
When installing Rational Robot, you might encounter any of the following errors:
Error 1904.Module c:\program files\rational\rational test\rtassetbrowser.ocx failed to register, HRESULT 3. Contact your support personnel
Error 1904.Module c:\program files\rational\rational test\rtlogtreectrl.ocx failed to register, HRESULT 3. Contact your support personnel
Error 1904.Module c:\program files\rational\rational test\rtreportbrowser.ocx failed to register, HRESULT 3. Contact your support personnel
Error 1904.Module c:\program files\rational\rational test\rttestscriptctrl.ocx failed to register, HRESULT 3. Contact your support personnel
Error 1904.Module c:\program files\rational\rational test\rttestserverui.dll failed to register, HRESULT 3. Contact your support personnel
Error 1904.Module c:\program files\rational\rational test\rttestinputtree.ocx failed to register, HRESULT 3. Contact your support personnel
Error 1904.Module c:\program files\rational\rational test\rttestplantree.ocx failed to register, HRESULT 3. Contact your support personnel
When trying to launch Rational Robot, the following error message might appear:
The ordinal 10949 could not be located in the dynamic link library OTP60AS.dll.
If there are other branded testing tools installed on the system, try the following:
- Uninstall the other testing tools.
- Uninstall Rational Robot from add/remove programs.
- Reinstall Rational Robot.
